Edzell had a very good win against Fettercairn last night with both Ron & Bob's rink recording substantial victories. Unfortunately the trophy wasn't available for presentation and we are not entirely sure who has it. Can everyone check to see if they have the Craik/Brown Trophy in their possession and if so please return to Russell/Ron or Sandra.

The next scheduled inter-club game is against Brechin Castle on 28th January, 2014. We will also be getting a new date for the re-arranged inter-club against Catterthun as soon as possible.

Next week sees quite a few games on the go with a Double Rinks game against Evenie Water, a Ferguson Quaich game, and an Inglis Cup game. Please check your syllabuses to see if you are involved.

Of special note are the club points on Monday 2nd December at 8:15pm to which we would welcome a large turnout otherwise it costs the club a lot of money to cover the ice booked.

Edzell & Catterthun Curling Clubs held a very successful joint curlers court at Forfar Curling Centre on November 15th, 2013. With Edzell Club President Russell Brown in charge, ably assisted by the highly experienced David Birse from Catterthun CC, guests and "nabadies" enjoyed a night of humor, socialising and good old fashioned curling fellowship.

The theme for the night was Bothy Nichts and it was great to see around three quarters of the audience dressed up for the occasion. Special guests were Mr and Mrs Alan Durno with Alan representing the Royal Caledonian Curling club in his role as Club President. Alan along with our other speakers namely Mike Ferguson, Alan Wood, Gavin Grant, David Warden, Dougie Telfer, Ron Caithness and Chris Curnin entertained the appreciative guests with a tall tale or two.

Music was provided courtesy of Bob Miller and Kevin Dalgetty and our thanks go to both. Food and drink was supplied by the FIS staff with plenty of both for everyone to enjoy.

All in all an excellent night and thanks go to all who helped in anyway. Here are some of the pictures we can publish.

9 members attended the Annual pairs competition at Forfar Ice Rink on Friday night and a most enjoyable evening was had by all.

There was some good competitive but social curling on the ice and the eventual winners were Andrew Ferguson & Dean Greig.

Congratulations go to them - the first Trophy Winners of the 2013-2014 season. The curling was followed by a very good meal and thanks go to all who supported this event.

Russell Brown
President.

The club held a fancy dress game on Tuesday 21st October 2013 in an effort to bring some fun back into curling. Well done to the few that supported the event. A very strange sight on the ice indeed but good fun and the curling wasn't that bad either.

Can you guess who is who?

Ideas from members very welcome for the next social curling game. Please contact Steve Warden, Stephen Ferguson or Murray Young with your ideas.
