Varying fortunes in the first-inter club games of the season I am afraid.
Edzell CC v Dalhousie Ladies CC
Dalhousie Ladies emerged victorious for the 3rd season in a row winning by one shot overall. Jo's team was hindered by a six shot penalty from the off but it was fair to say Susan Skene played some tremendous shots saving a number of big ends with draws against three's and four's. Bob Miller's rink played very well and ran out big winners albeit if the last take-out had done it's job Edzell would have secured victory.
Edzell CC v Catterthun CC.
A more creditable result with both Edzell teams skipped by Mike & Ron romping home with 14-7 and 14-4 wins respectively. Both teams were on top form from the start albeit from a 7-0 after 3 ends start to 7-7 after 5 ends things did get tight for a while for Mike's rink but strong front end play built up the heads to allow for an excellent finish.
Members Note: Six shot penalties are very hard to fight back from so please ensure subs are found if you cannot make the games you have been selected to play in.
